My Approach
Tatum views life as a kaleidoscope—beautifully made up of moments that capture the full spectrum of human emotion, from joy and excitement to grief and uncertainty. Each experience shapes who we are and the story we carry. Tatum considers it a privilege to sit with clients as they make sense of their stories, gain new perspectives, and imagine the next chapter they want to write.
When working with adults, Tatum creates a space where you can slow down, explore your experiences, and rediscover connection to yourself and others. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, recovery from disordered eating and eating disorders, life transitions, relationship challenges, OCD, or simply feeling “stuck”, Tatum’s approach is compassionate, curious, and grounded. She helps clients untangle patterns that no longer serve them and identify practical ways to move toward clarity, peace, and purpose.
For children, teens, and adolescents, Tatum provides a safe and supportive environment where young clients discover new ways to express what’s on their minds and hearts—through play, creativity, or conversation. She partners closely with families to help children build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop confidence in who they are. Tatum works with issues such as anxiety, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, peer relationships, and family transitions, always with the goal of helping kids and teens feel seen, understood, and empowered.
Across all ages, Tatum’s therapeutic style is empathic, encouraging, and direct. She believes healing happens through connection and curiosity—and that every person already holds the wisdom they need to grow.

More About Me
Before stepping into the world of counseling, Tatum worked within the realm of public health, providing community education and trauma-informed programming through several nonprofits in her area. After obtaining her Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Middle Tennessee State University, Tatum facilitated outpatient counseling services for children, teens, and young adults at a nonprofit counseling center before joining the Anchored team.
Outside of her time with clients, Tatum enjoys adventuring with her husband and their silly dog, spending as much time in nature as humanly possible, browsing antique shops, gardening and caring for her many houseplants, reading, and sharing meals with friends.
Tatum is working towards full licensure and is under supervision with Shari McClaren, license #3085 in TN.
