My approach:
Laura is passionate about helping individuals recover from their eating disorders. Laura supports her clients in building body trust and practices from a Health at Every Size (HAES) model and a trauma-informed approach. She believes that all bodies have inherent value. Laura works to create a safe environment that is built on a foundation of trust. Her therapeutic style is direct, compassionate, and person-centered. She believes that clients know themselves best and have the ability to implement lasting change in their lives.
I enjoy working with:
- eating disorders, all diagnoses or clients who may not meet criteria for a diagnosis but desire more peace in their relationship with food & their bodies
- clients working towards body peace and attunement through embodiment work
- family of origin work through an attachment-based lens
- trauma (specifically, sexual trauma, recovery from childhood sexual abuse or recovery from abusive relationships/domestic violence)
- clients wanting to explore their spirituality in the context of mental health
- clients wanting support around life adjustment concerns (relationships concerns, boundary setting, and communication skills)

More about me:
Prior to working in a private practice setting, Laura worked in a nonprofit counseling setting and for an eating disorder treatment center, where she provided treatment to clients at a partial inpatient and intensive outpatient level of care. Outside of her time with clients, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and baby girl, riding horses, playing with her sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Louie, trying new restaurants in Nashville, and collecting more household plants.
