Ellie Bender, M.A.
Master's in Professional Counseling
Nationally Certified Counselor

My approach:
Ellie is committed to helping clients reach the best version of themselves. While focusing on clients’ personal goals, Ellie listens to their needs: she believes growth and healing take place in an environment of acceptance and understanding. Ellie strives to cultivate a sense of belonging and support without fear of guilt or shame. Furthermore, Ellie’s therapy sessions hold a space for clients to feel secure in experiencing the freedom of vulnerability without judgment, as she values the uniqueness to everyone’s journey. Her therapeutic style is built on a foundation of trust between the client and therapist, as they collaborate on identifying and shifting negative core beliefs. Empathy is at the center of her practice.
I enjoy working with:
- Eating disorders and clients seeking more compassion towards their body and a peaceful relationship with food
- Clients who struggle with anxiety and depression
- Adjustment disorders (i.e. relationship struggles, boundary setting, and communication skills)
- Clients who struggle with insecurities/negative self-talk
- Adolescents
- Athletes (i.e. maintaining a balanced life, burn-out, and the stressors of sports)
Therapies I use:
- ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy)
- CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy)
- DBT (dialetical behavioral therapy)
- SFBT (solution-focused brief therapy)
More about me:
Ellie received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Colorado. Prior to working in a private practice setting, she provided individual therapy to clients presenting with moderate to severe psychopathology including depressive and anxiety disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia. Outside of her time with clients, Ellie loves playing tennis, spending time with her family, and exploring the outdoors with her German Shepard (Boaz) and Australian Shepards (Maui and Nylah).
