My approach:
Casey’s approach is direct and results oriented, warm and compassionate, and often infused with a quirky dash of humor. She is committed to helping clients attain and maintain long term sobriety. Having been sober since 2006, she is passionate about sharing her gift with those who still suffer. Casey believes that breaking generational patterns of addiction within families, is the key to healing and hope.
I enjoy working with:
- anxiety and depression
- adjustment disorders
- disordered eating
- Substance use. More specifically, identifying if alcohol/substances are causing problems; determining if behaviors are aligning with values; providing hope, direction and support through difficult change; assisting in maintaining long term sobriety and achieving life goals.
- Adolescents. Growing up has always been hard. But, with the barrage of social media, a pandemic and increasing performance expectations in the classroom and on the field it can feel overwhelming. Giving adolescents a space to process their thoughts and feelings and providing tools to express and care for themselves helps prevent maladaptive coping behaviors.
- Athletes. As a college athlete who struggled to maintain balance, Casey has a heart for athletes and the unique challenges they face.
Therapies I use:
- CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy)
- DBT (dialetical behavioral therapy)
- ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy)
- Motivational interviewing
